School Council Mission Statement?

At the most recent School Council meeting, we began a conversation about what our goals are. We started by finding words that inspire us.
The list of words and ideas is below. Which words inspire you? If you have a way with words, why not try writing a Blake School Council Mission Statement? Send us your ideas, based on some of the words below. The winner gets a free ticket to the next Blake School Council meeting!!! (Yes, that’s a joke! School Council meetings are open to everyone, we promise!)

Blake Social – June 16th

The Parent Council will be hosting the inaugural Blake Social between 6pm-9:00pm on Friday, June 16th at the school. It is an opportunity to decompress after the Fun Fair and a time to celebrate the onset of summer break. We are proposing a small per person fee of $5 to offset the cost of food, alcohol, and pop and to encourage as many parents to attend the event. Teachers are also welcome to join in the fun.

Please send along the money with your child in an envelope labeled, “Blake Social” and have them drop it off at the front office (Sue Reashore) for collection.

It would also help if participants would bring their favorite game from the 80s and 90s to socialize with everyone.

Hope to see you there! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach Seth Chitayat at

Our Indigo fundraiser

A message from Kelly Dyment:
First, a thank you to all who contributed a story to our Indigo Blake page – we have now achieved 10 out of the possible 10 free books available for that endeavour!
With 6 days left in the campaign, we are still shy of last year’s amount raised in house. We are at $940 raised so far, whereas last year our community fundraising hit $2,300. While it’s amazing to see what’s happening in the store, part of the reason we were selected was because they could see the amount our own community raised. At this point we have only earned 31 of the 40 possible ‘extra’ books in this category.
The store still has a fundraising target of $15,000 and are currently sitting at $8,200. Let’s be sure we show them lots of love on Twitter (@IndigoEatonCtr) and Facebook (@indigoEatonCentre). Let’s help achieve our goals and theirs!
Thanks for all the support thus far – our kids will be benefiting in a HUGE way!
